Eating out vs Web Hosting Costs
Let’s say you want to host a simple web app on EC2.
At the most this will cost about $100 a month or $1200 a year.
- Machine: $61/mo (Linux) or $86/mo (Windows)
- Bandwidth: $10/mo
- Storage: $5/mo
- Total: $76 to $101/mo or $1200 a year.
Let’s say you lunch out every day.
Assuming you spend $5 a lunch (which is probably low) at 250 work days, your total is $1250 a year.
It’s more costly to eat out for lunch than it is to host your startup on EC2.
Make a sandwich and get your web app up.
